We strongly recommend submitting your artwork as a print-ready PDF, because it's the most reliable format for preserving design fidelity. We prefer PDF (often with “bleed” included) to ensure your layout, fonts, and colors remain accurate.
We also accept other formats like Adobe Illustrator (.AI), InDesign, or high-resolution JPEG / PNG, but note that non-PDF files may require additional prepress steps.
Tip: Be sure to refer to our design guidelines available on each product page to help you with design bleed so that your design extends to the edge without being cut off.
Use high-resolution graphics, ideally 300 DPI (dots per inch) for the best print quality. Lower-resolution images may look fine on screen, but can print blurry or pixelated. And if you’re including a photo or image-based background, make sure the resolution is sufficient at the physical business card size, not just what it looks like on screen.
Yes, you should include a bleed in your design. A “bleed” is where your background or design goes past the final cut line, so there are no unwanted white borders after trimming. Also, keep important text or logos inside the “safe area” (a bit inside the trim edge) so they don’t get cut off.
Computer monitors use RGB color, but commercial printing typically uses CMYK. Because of this difference, some colors (especially very bright or neon ones) may not translate exactly from screen to print. To minimize color shifts, design in CMYK when possible.
Our production time typically starts within a day after you’ve submitted your final design and approved everything. We don’t process orders on weekends, so any order placed on Saturday or Sunday will begin production on Monday.
Once in production, most standard business card orders are completed within 3 business days. This timeframe gives us flexibility to ensure high-quality results while still keeping things fast and efficient. (If you’re in a rush, we also offer faster delivery options.) We ship across all the Atlantic Provinces. Local pickup from our Dartmouth location is also available.
That depends on your needs: if you’re handing them out frequently (e.g., networking, sales), ordering a larger quantity (e.g., 500–1000) is often more cost-effective per card. But if you just need a handful for occasional use, a smaller run may work better for you.
